“A thinking woman sleeps with monsters.”

— Adrienne Rich

Here, I’ve created a space where you can trail my day-to-day musings, as I capture the sporadic thoughts that keep me up at night (in between watching sheep hurdle over white picket derby fences) so as not to forget them myself.

Luckily, I’ve also checked under the bed and concluded that the only monster with whom I’m sharing my space, is a very furry man-cat (Marcus).

I’m Olivia, a writer, editor, and a girl with her head in the clouds. As a child, I would’ve given my left leg to be in Eragon and to have my own dragon, or for my house to be graced by the weird and wonderful likes of Thimbletack, from The Spiderwick Chronicles. Now, I try to blend those elements of fantasy that carried me away as a child and allowed me to escape my own reality, and help them find their place in my adult life.

I graduated with a first-class honours in Comparative Literature from UCL in 2020, and am currently undergoing a postgraduate Masters in Writing at the Royal College of Art.

Writing has always been my passion (as cliché as that might be to say), and spent a lot of my childhood with my nose in a book. I now write with a focus on mental health awareness, to change the reality for those who suffer with similar issues as I did during my teens.

Based in London, I write for several London based publications that cover the city’s contemporary culture, food and events. I also excel at proofreading and copywriting, whether it be academic papers or the CVs of close friends climbing the corporate ladder.

In my spare time, I write short stories and poems that bridge the boundaries between of this world and the ones inside my dreams. Beyond my profession, I’m an ardent gym-goer and food lover, with a penchant for baking that rarely succeeds.
